Night of Lights

As I am saving hard for the travels I am planning towards the end of the year, I am currently grounded in Bonn for a while. Headed down to Cologne on Saturday for the annual fireworks display on the Rhine ingeniously called "Night of Lights". We joined thousands of people on the banks of the River for the show which lasted about 30 minutes. We had a lovely spot on a pebble "beach" and had a BBQ and some beers (just cos its Germany) and watched the show. The bad part was however, following the fireworks, those thousands of people all tried to cram onto the same train. After about 3 hours I finally made it home to Bonn (it is normally a 20 minute ride). As least the fireworks were pretty!
